Yes, this reflection was inspired by a song from Titãs. And as a true daughter of pop culture and strategic communication, I know that the deepest truths often hide between the lines of what we sing in the shower.
Desire. Need. Willpower.
It’s easy to mix these up on LinkedIn. And that’s where things get risky.
You desire to be recognized.
You need to position yourself.
But you only feel like posting a meme and ghosting right after.
Want a more relatable example?
You want to get promoted but can’t bring yourself to write a post about your own project. You want to be invited to interviews, but you’re too afraid to show your face. You want to build authority, but you’re too lazy to update your profile properly.
That’s like wanting to lose weight while eating deep-fried fair food every day.
Personal branding is a diet, it’s planning, consistency, reading the labels (read: strategy), and most of all, knowing what truly nourishes you…and what just bloats your feed with empty calories.
So, what gets real results?
Feeding your audience with content that makes sense (and not just to you, but to the people you want to attract).
Getting clear on your brand DNA (there’s no point in faking authority if you haven’t found your real voice).
And yes, following a plan, even if you’d rather cook up something spontaneous.
Because at the end of the day, your visibility is directly tied to how well you nourish yourself, and others, with content that matters.
Not sure if your personal brand is eating right?
I’ve got a checklist with the 5 steps I use to build authority with real positioning. No miracle formulas. Just real strategy.
And please, let’s stop serving instant noodles and pretending it’s risotto.Your brand deserves better.
